116th Congress H. Bill 7791
Remove Barriers to Provider Participation in Medicare Programs
Steven Tulley
Congressman Peter Welch has reintroduced his 2020 proposal: H.R. 4587, the Value in Health Care Act of 2021. This Bill aims to revise Medicare regulations to eliminate barriers to provider participation (e.g., physicians, hospitals, and others involved in patient care) in the Medicare shared savings programs. The Shared Savings Program is an alternative payment model that promotes accountability for Medicare patient populations and encourages investment in high quality, efficient services. For the best of the health of our public, we ought to continue to invest in a robust public healthcare system that achieves the best results.
