116th Congress S. Bill 1645
Pro-Women's Reproductive Rights! Support the Women's Health Protection Act of 2021
Nelson Arrieta
The recent fight against women's reproductive rights peaked with the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to uphold Texas S.B. 8, effectively a state ban on abortions. Now more than ever, we need our Federal legislators to reaffirm these rights of women. Our representatives ought to take a public stance that actors within the Federal government will not let flagrantly unconstitutional actions by colleagues go un-checked. The 2021 House and Senate reintroductions of the Women's Health Protection Act (H.R. 3755 and S.1975) are a perfect place for Members to begin taking up the mantle for pro-choice rights. Through a number of proposals, this Bill seeks to protect a person's ability to determine whether to continue or end a pregnancy, and the Bill protects health care provider ability to provide abortion services.
