117th Congress S. Bill 952
Burn Pits Accountability is Paramount to Saving Soldier and Veteran Lives
Rikki Acuna
The New York Senator Gillibrand's proposed legislation in S. 952 will presume a service connection for certain diseases associated with exposure to burn pits and other toxins. This classification will ensure that servicemembers suffering asthma, cancer, and other diseases after toxic exposure will receive proper care. Our government acts negligently by allowing servicemembers to suffer from exposure to burn pits and other toxic environments. This negligence is inexcusable. Nevertheless, at the least, our government ought to assume responsibility and pass this Bill to ensure accountability for exposed soldiers and veterans.
